The Spooks Are Comin' Out!

Today was the preschool Halloween party
Here's my Cheetah and my Witchy Moose

Witchy Moose trying to figure out why all her preschool friends look so unfamiliar...

I guess you'd call this an Auntiefly?  A Sisterbug?  Tinkerlem?
In any case, we're just getting warmed up.....

2 Sisters Are Better Than 1

Pop Pop's Pumpkin Patch

Grandma and Pop Pop recently moved into the house that will be their home-base from here on out! It's perfect for them and it's on a big acre! The plan was to turn the backyard into something resembling a pumpkin patch, but the rain put an end to that. So we carved pumpkins in the shelter of the garage and had hamburgers and hotdogs and hot chocolate!

Camp Cutie

The big girls always want to go camping.
We don't go often for 2 reasons:
1. Mommy works every weekend
2. When Ali was 11 months old, Auntie Leslie and I took her camping by ourselves and we almost died.  Not kidding.

So I set the tent up in the backyard last weekend
and Daddy and the girls spent a cozy night cuddled up under a billion quilts.

This is how memories are made!

It came, it went

And I didn't post a word about it.

Natalie on the first day of second grade. I would definately be her friend.

Mia on her first day of pre-K. I would approach carefully and ask her if she likes tigers.

Eva on her first day of preschool in the Fireflies class. I would share my juice with her any anything else I had.

Not Fair!

On Monday, while I recovered from a weekend of night-shifts, Mia and Eva enjoyed a morning with Grandma. First to IHOP, possibly Mia's favorite restaurant, then to Cabela's to look at stuffed wildlife and then Eva joined me at home for a nap while Mia joined her cousins at the Texas State Fair.

Nearly a perfect day for Miss. Mia! Of course when Ali got home from school and caught a glimpse of a text-message from Grandma containing the words cotton, candy, dippin', and dots, she launched into her practiced speech about the injustices of being the oldest sister and being forced to attend school all day. She knows how to play it - she now has Mom, Grandma and Auntie suggesting ways to make it up to her!

Watch Out For Falling Moose

So this is where I found my baby this morning. Remember Joe's observation about lack of supervision?

Last night Eva emptied an entire bottle of shampoo into the tub while I "supervised" from the bathroom floor with my laptop... Turns out what I thought was "baba!" was actually an excited exclamation of "bubble!".

Best Friends

Today I picked up my daughter and my nephew from preschool. James' teacher asked him if he was going to go home with his cousin, Mia. James said "No - Mia my best friend!". Sometimes he is so sweet, I could eat him with a spoon!

Minted In 1954

Happy Birthday Pop Pop!
Nothing like a surprise visit from the granddaughters!

Mia picked out a piece of Snickers cake to take to Pop Pop at work.
She held it in her lap all the way there.
She carefully climbed out of the van with it.
She stood patiently on the sidewalk waiting to present it to her Pop Pop.
And then she dropped it at his feet...
Fortunately Pop Pop saved the day by exclaming how delicious it looked smooshed in the lid
and how he was going to go eat it right away!

We love you Pop Pop!
