I'm not the most observant person in the world. Think back to the little lavendar plant my Mom-in-law bought for my bathroom.. I watered it for a year before I realized it was fake.
Ali talks about a little guy from Kindergarten frequently. "Grady is such a nice boy." "Can Grady come to my house for a playdate?" "I sat by Grady today." I've seen Grady. He's a cutie pie and a quiet, well-mannered student. The kind of kid you like your kid to befriend, right? Then I noticed some notes around the house... "I love you Grady". Hmm.. not too alarming. I find notes with "I love you Audrey" also. Well, today Ali confesses to her Auntie Leslie that she got in some trouble at school. It seems Ali and a couple other little girls with a fondness for the same boy got caught writing "love notes". Apparently Grady wrote back that he does not like the notes, his mom does not like the notes and would Ali please stop writing them. Uh oh. Perhaps I should have addressed what is appropriate for Kindergartens in regards to "loving our friends" before now. Well, it's never too late!
