Did you see the commercials for Disney On Ice? Yeah? So did my Cuties....
So after several days of not so subtle hints from my big girls, I bought us a few tickets and set a "date night".
I remember date nights with my Dad when I was little. I specifically remember wearing my cousin Dawn's fur coat and a black floral dress and going to have oysters on the half-shell at Shenanigan's. We parked in a puddle and my Dad had to carry me into the restaurant so my patent leather shoes wouldn't get wet. I ordered "chicken oscar". I must have been in second grade. Fond memories!
Now here I am twenty something years later, dressing up my "big" little girls and going on a date!
We had chicken strips, broccoli and strawberry spinach salad at Cheddar's. Oysters on the half-shell will have to wait for another time! And of course we shared a monster cookie sundae for dessert.
Our budget-friendly tickets placed us up in row V in the upper balcony.
After looking around for a few minutes, Ali said:
"Mom? We're in row V? So those seats down by the ice must be row A?
Were they out of those seats or something when you bought our tickets?"
She would have preferred rink-side seats, obviously.
My Cuties are great company.
I can't wait for next time.
