Since we go to preschool on the opposite days as most of our playgroup friends, we miss out on lots of fun playgroup outtings...
So today we hooked up with our friend Joely and her mom Jenn, and we went to the zoo!
Amelia does not tolerate my photo habbit.
She will not smile.
She will not say "cheese".
Most the time, she will not even look at me or the camera.
So I would like to assure you all
that despite appearances,
Miss. Amelia is a happy child.
This was Eva's first trip to the zoo.
Besides the occasional dog and cat
and the trip to Miss. Jami's ranch
(where she mistook Gimli the lab for a grizzly bear)
Eva doesn't associate with many animals.
The look on her face when she saw the gorillas and elephants was priceless.
It should come as no surprise that
Mia made a beeline for the lions and tigers.
Oh my!
It was really cute when she continually consulted the map for directions
while holding it upside down.
We stopped at the Great Barrier Reef
to build a sandcastle.
She was actually smiling until we pulled out the cameras....
Eva is infamous for her fabulous hats.
Here she is modeling this year's sunbonnet.
No trip to the zoo is complete without a ride on the train.
I think our friend Joely could have ridden the train for hours!
It's just that much fun!
It was so much fun to take a breather from school
(in case you didn't hear - the paper I suffered for 5 weeks has been turned in!)
and enjoy a great day at the zoo with the girls.
It made me sad to think that next year,
it'll be just Eva and I visiting the zoo together.
Thanks Jenn and Joely for being our playgroup!
