Even Cuter When Asleep

I was enjoying a good book in the bath tub last night after putting the big girls to bed. Joe was at the gym and little Eva was relaxing in her baby chair next to me - Ali came in the bathroom to request a drink of water once and to request cough medicine for her sister once(according to Ali, Mia's coughing was the root of her inability to stay in bed and go to sleep). Mia came in the bathroom once to go potty, once to look for a missing baby, and once to tattle on Ali (who kept yelling at her to "Quit coughing!!!"). When Joe got home, he asked if I knew that Ali was asleep in the hallway. Huh? Apparently, fed up with the coughing, Ali packed up and moved into the hallway to sleep under the nightlight. I would have left her there too - but that tile floor is so cold and hard!! Today we invested in some Zyrtec for Mia (and Ali, I suppose!).

Evelyn is doing much better at night. The Momma is constantly waking her up during the day and stuffing her full of milk. I only let her go 2 hours or so between eating during the day. Joe claims I drown her all day. Around 10pm, she eats until she passes out and then we get a good 4 hour stretch to sleep. She has a 2am snack and goes back to sleep until about 5 or 6 am and then we snuggle in bed until it's time to wake up. Usually the lazy baby stays in bed (sleeping it off) until we have to take a sister to school or something. She loves Mommy and Daddy's bed.

Mia is so very attached to all things baby. I was picking her up from preschool last week and was in a bit of a hurry. Mia was puzzled by my showing up solo. She asked me where Baby Eva was - and in front of her preschool teachers, I said, "Eva was asleep, so I just left her at home." It wasn't until we were walking to the car that the reason for her teacher's wide-eyed goggle hit me. I should have added to that sentence, ".. with Daddy who works from home." Sheesh. What must people think?
