Vintage Bitties

I haven't done this in a while.  The following picture may be one of my favorites.  This is Amelia at about 5 or 6 months demonstrating one of the major contributing factors to her nickname, "Meatball".  I love it.

Not Good!

One of the hazards of a mobile Moosey.
Anybody know where I can get a good deal on baby-proofing supplies?

Impossible!!

It has happened in my life 3 times.
I have looked into a pair of huge baby blues and thought
"no mother has ever loved a baby as much as I love you".
The enormity of that feeling is
impossible.

Today my last baby turned a year old.
And my first baby baked her some birthday cupcakes.

Her cousins came over and helped her open some birthday presents.

Mia called her little sister "Evalumptious".

The wrapping paper was definately more interesting to her than what was inside the box.

Our hairband wearing days are over, I am afraid.

Happy birthday baby!

Big sister makes a mean cupcake.

She actually cried big alligator tears when her cupcake was gone.

Ah, yes.  There are those tears.

NessysNest

Pick just about any of my blog posts and you can observe my wonderful children.

Every so often, I blog about my wonderful husband.  He put the children to bed tonight and I love him.

Occasionally I mention my equally wonderful mother and sister.

Tonight I'd like to spotlight one of my two delightful and wonderful little sister-in-laws.

Miss. Vanessa is an artist and a college student.  She is a great daughter, sister, auntie, and birdkeeper.

She is just a wonderful person and I wanted to share some bloggy love
Nessy has an etsy shop you should check out and if you're in the market
for some custom pyrography gourds, she's your girl!
(She has lots of other stuff too.)
You think some of those creative-type genes found their way into any of my Texas Cuties?
I hope so.

Another Year

Yep, I had another birthday.

It was pretty good.

Joe made me an icecream cake.  With lots of chocolate fudge.

Ali wrote me a letter.  Apparently she liked me better when I was 28.

My Mom and Dad got me a chiminea for my patio.

The birthday cards though - they were awesome this year!

Can you read these?  The first is from Joe and the second from my sister.

Squeek of the Week

Mia:  "Mom, I'm going to tell you a story, okay?"
Mom:  "Okay"
Mia:  "Once upon a time there was a little girl named Mia."
Mom:  "What did she look like?"
Mia:  "She had yellow hair and all the same stuff as me.  And the same shoes.  And one morning she wakeded up and went outside and she saw a raccoon.  But it was dieded.  Is that sad?"
Mom:  "Yes, very sad."
Mia:  "Well, there was a mean guy with a gun and he shooted the raccoon.  But then there was another raccoon.  A girl one."
Mom:  "And then what happened?"
Mia: "And then they were alive.  The end."

Good story.  A little confusing, but good.

Lesson Learned

My four year old is more tech-savvy than I give her credit for.

No more playing with Momma's phone while Momma is in the shower.

I couldn't find the "photo delete" button fast enough.

Good grief.

Princess Upchuck?

It's no particular secret that little Evelyn, our precious "Moosey Loosey", has a small problem with reflux.  Until we started solids, I had assumed that it was something she'd outgrow.  But after throwing up on the gym daycare ladies, puking up her spaghetti during a dinner party, tossing her cookies in her crib at night, and developing her own particular musk which earned her a couple unflattering nicknames from Auntie, I finally took her in for an upper GI.  And they confirmed she has... reflux. So here we are a few doses of Zantac later, and Moosey is a new baby!
Enjoying banana cookies that stay put in the tummy!

Making great strides in her mobility efforts!

Acting more and more like her own person!

Playing hostage fun games with big sister Mia!
